Cultural tourism strategy
A regional Cultural Tourism Strategy that underpinned Norwich's UNESCO City of Literature bid.

New Anglia LEP's Cultural Board wanted to strengthen the role of culture within the region's economic growth agenda. The challenge was to bring together a wide range of partners around a shared vision for cultural tourism that could attract political support and long-term investment.
CTConsults worked with stakeholders from across the cultural, tourism and economic development sectors to develop an integrated Cultural Tourism Strategy. Building on the region's significant assets, the strategy demonstrated how collaboration across places, organisations and sectors could create a stronger visitor offer and unlock wider economic benefits.
The strategy provided a clear roadmap for delivery, prioritising partnership working, investment in shared infrastructure, creative programming and market-led product development. It also supported the establishment of a new cultural tourism partnership, creating the governance and advocacy needed to sustain collaboration and attract investment.
The strategy has shaped subsequent development across the region, supporting investment in cultural infrastructure and new collaborative initiatives. It also supported Norwich's successful bid for UNESCO City of Literature status, strengthening the region's international cultural profile.
